Dr. Shaku Shanmugam

Meet Dr. Shaku Shanmugam MBBS, FRACGP, a highly skilled General Practitioner with a passion for comprehensive health care. Her areas of expertise include Skin Cancer, Women’s, Men’s & Child Health, Chronic Disease Management, and creating personalized health care plans that cater to each patient's unique needs.
With years of experience under her belt, Dr. Shaku has worked in hospitals across multiple states in Malaysia before settling in Kuala Lumpur as a GP. She then went on to work as a senior medical officer in a 20-bed hospital in outback Queensland for 3.5 years, followed by 6 years at the Edmonton Family Medical Cairns. Finally, she opened her own clinic, Willowglen Medical, in Toowoomba in February 2018.

Dr. Shaku has a wealth of experience working in urban and rural hospitals, as well as maternity and child health clinics in Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and Australia. In addition to her impressive medical expertise, she is also fluent in a number of languages including Malay, Tamil, Urdu, and Hindi.
Born and educated in Malaysia, Dr. Shaku is a 3rd generation Malaysian with roots from India. Her diverse background and extensive medical experience make her an exceptional GP who can provide a unique and personalized approach to your health care needs.

Dr. Buddi Wijesiri

Dr. Buddi Wijesiri MBBS is a seasoned healthcare expert with a wealth of experience in various medical fields. Starting his journey in Sri Lanka and later in Maryborough, Dr. Buddi gained valuable experience as a General Practitioner. He then moved on to practice Cardiology at the Friendly Society Private Hospital in Bundaberg. Before joining us, Dr. Buddi was part of the team at the Hevrveybay Hospital, where he specialised in General Medicine and Emergency Medicine. With a keen interest in Mental Health, Chronic Disease Management, Men’s Health, Skin Checks, and Cardiology, Dr. Buddi is committed to providing his patients with the highest level of care possible.

Dr. Mojgan Naseri

Dr. Mojgan Naseri earned her Medical Doctorate (MD) from Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, in 1994, and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology, receiving her specialty degree in 1998.
With over two decades of dedicated practice in both public and private sectors in Iran, Dr. Naseri is a strong advocate of a holistic approach to medicine. Her extensive experience covers all aspects of general practice, with a particular focus on women's health. Dr. Naseri is committed to helping patients achieve optimal health and well-being through lifestyle changes and clinical interventions.
Dr. Naseri is multilingual, fluent in English, Farsi, and French.

Dr. Santha Sen

Dr. Santha Senguttuvan, who prefers to be called Santha or Dr. Sen, earned her MBBS degree from Chennai, India. She has worked in a range of hospitals across urban and rural India before relocating to Melbourne in 1984. Upon passing the Australian Medical Council Qualifying Exams, she practiced as a GP in various Melbourne clinics. She has recently moved to Toowoomba to be nearer to her daughter and her family.
Dr. Santha has a keen interest in all aspects of general practice, encompassing women’s and children’s health such as Pap smears and immunizations, as well as chronic disease management, mental health, travel medicine, and preventive healthcare.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and tending to her garden.

Mrs. Gillian Bonser, RN

Our wonderful Practice Nurse Gillian has over 20 years of nursing experience in hospitals, aged care and general practice, with a preference for practice nursing. Gillian endeavours to provide a warm and caring environment for all our patients while treating them with respect, skill and empathy that is hard to find elsewhere.

Happenings.

Willowglen Medical Toowoomba has been in the forefront of protecting our Patients and Staff from COVID-19. We started telephone screening every patient from February 2020. Our staff were abused at the time and were told that that no way was COVID -19 going travel to Toowoomba.
Our precautions were justified as a patient from the cruise ship Ruby Princess died from the Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID19) died in Toowoomba.
We were practicing social distancing from the start.
